Ensuring accurate and up-to-date customer information is essential for smooth business operations. Merge Customers consolidates multiple accounts into one while preserving order history, streamlining customer management effortlessly.
There are two ways to merge customers:
- Directly within WebManager
- Using our Merge Customer Template
Please note: "Duplicates" should always be 0, but occasional duplicates may appear. Before merging customers using either method below, we recommend merging duplicate customers first.
Merge Customers in WebManager
Follow the steps below to merge customers directly within WebManager.
Step 1
Navigate to the Customers tab and then Merge Customers
The 'Merge Customers' page is split into two sections.
- Merge Selected Customers Into →
- Select one or more customer records to merge into the customer in the 'This Customer' panel
- This Customer
- This is the final customer record that will remain in the system after merging
Step 2
Select one or more customers from the left panel to merge into a customer in the right panel.
- In the example below, we will merge two customers together from the left panel into one of the two customers from the right panel.
Step 3
Click the 'Merge Selected Customers' button
Step 4
Verify or update any applicable customer information on the customer details screen. Click 'Save Customer'.
Please note: Merging customers is permanent and cannot be undone. Please review your selections carefully before proceeding to Step 5.
Step 5
Click 'push data live'. After pushing data live, reps must delete any open carts associated with the old customer(s) and recreate them under the new customer. Then, log out and log back in to see the updates.
Merge Customers Using Template
Follow the steps below to merge using the Import Customer Merge template.
Step 1
Gather the customer number for each customer you need to merge
Step 2
Using the Import Customer Merge template, enter the customer numbers accordingly.
- Original Customer Number: Select one or more customer records to merge into the customer in the 'New Customer Number' column
- New Customer Number: This is the final customer record that will remain in the system after merging
Step 3
Navigate to WebManager > Manage Data > Upload Data Sheets > Select 'Customer Merge' in the dropdown menu.
Step 4
Drag-and-drop or select the Import Customer Merge file completed in Step 2.
Step 5
Review the customer numbers in the 'Preview Data' screen. Click 'My Data Looks Good'.

Step 6

Q. Can I un-merge two customers that were accidentally merged?
A. No, merging customers is permanent. Be sure to review your selections carefully before merging. If you merge customers by mistake, you can re-create the merged customer, but their order history cannot be transferred back.
Q. Is one merge option better than the other?
A. The best merge method depends on how many customers you need to merge. If you're merging a few customers, merging directly in WebManager may be the better option. If you're merging a large number of customers at once, using the template is recommended.
