RepZio is pleased to announce a powerful new feature that lets you create custom Surcharges inside RepZio across our entire platform.
What can you do with Custom Surcharges?
Let's walk through a recent use case that drove the implementation of this new feature: Tariffs imposed by some countries in various home goods manufacturing sectors will add a new cost for a buyer.
Let's say RepZio's lighting division sources products from China that are currently subject to a new tariff, but we also source products from the states or other countries that do not. We can easily set up a PER PRODUCT cost (this is a dollar amount) associated with the tariffed product that comes from another country.
This lets us:
- Clearly, delineate the cost of the product from the imposed tariff
- Shows which products the tariffs apply to
- Gives our customers a clear view of why their cost is rising and gives them complete transparency into what the real cost of the product is
This was a major concern for a lot of wholesale buyers as they want to make sure any newly introduced costs & tariffs are not simply passed on forever, even if tariffs go away.
How do I set up Custom Surcharges?
Surcharges are calculated on a property you assign from each product, a good option would be to populate a cost (this is a dollar amount) using one of our product UDF's.
Once this data is ready and populated on products in our system, create the surcharge in the web manager. (https://manage.repzio.com/surcharges)
Give your surcharge a name and let us know which field to use to calculate the surcharge, click add and that is it!
EXAMPLE:
We gave our Surcharge the name of Tariff
We choose UDF15 as our Calculate On Property.
Now any Product that has a value populated for UDF15 will calculate a Surcharge.
If Product 123 cost $100 and has $15 populated on UDF15 and the Customer orders 1 of these products, the Surcharge line item will show $15
Now you have created your Surcharge...what's next?.
It will async to the iPad app the next time you push data live. Surcharges will calculate automatically and be displayed on the order submission screen. ( shown below )
The Surcharges will also be available on the Order in any receipts that go out and in the web manager. The additional line item for Surcharges will ONLY BE SHOWN IF the Order contains a Product that has a Surcharge, otherwise, everything will remain the same.
