Typing on your iPad can be easier when holding it with two hands — especially if you enable the Split Keyboard feature. This divides the keyboard into two halves, placing them on the left and right sides of the screen for more comfortable thumb typing.
⚙️ Enable Split Keyboard
Open Settings → General → Keyboard
Scroll down and toggle Split Keyboard to On
💡 Tip: The Split Keyboard must be enabled before you can use the gesture in apps like RepZio.
✋ Split the Keyboard
Once enabled, you can split the keyboard two ways:
📍 Option 1: Using a Gesture
Open the keyboard in the RepZio app.
Place two fingers (one on each side of the keyboard) and spread them apart.
📍 Option 2: Using the Keyboard Key
Tap and hold the keyboard key (bottom-right corner).
Select Split from the menu.
🔁 Merge the Keyboard
To make the keyboard whole again:
Place two fingers on each half and pinch them together, or
Tap and hold the keyboard key, then select Merge.
🧭 Undock or Re-Dock the Keyboard
You can also undock the keyboard so it floats in the middle of the screen rather than staying at the bottom.
🪶 To Undock:
Tap and hold the keyboard key, then select Undock.
📍 To Re-Dock:
Tap and hold the keyboard key again and choose Dock and Merge.
