A shipping surcharge is an additional fee charged to cover extra costs such as tariffs, fuel surcharges, oversized packages, or rural delivery fees. With custom surcharges, you can tailor these additional fees to align with your specific business needs and cost structure.
โ๏ธ How to Set Up Custom Surcharges
Step 1: Prepare Your Product File
Determine which UDF (User Defined Field) will be used to store the surcharge. Enter the surcharge amount (in dollars) into that UDF column, and upload your product file.
Step 2: Access the Surcharge Settings
Go to WebManager > Settings > Surcharges
Step 3: Configure the Surcharge
-
Enter a name for the surcharge (e.g., "Shipping Fee" or "Oversized Item Charge")
-
Select the appropriate UDF field from the dropdown
Step 4: Apply the Surcharge
Click Add to activate the surcharge. The surcharge will now calculate automatically and appear during order submission.
Step 5: Refresh Open Carts
Sales reps must remove any items with a surcharge from open carts, then log out and back in to sync the latest settings.
